William Adam taught applied trumpet at Indiana University’s Jacobs School Music for 42 years, from 1946 to 1988.
The William Adam International Trumpet Festival (AdamFest) was established to honor his legacy and present his concepts to the next generation of trumpet students.
After his retirement, he continued to teach privately at his home, through Oct. 14, 2013. He is widely considered to have been one of the greatest trumpet pedagogues of the 20th century.
Those who studied with him take great satisfaction in sharing his approach to playing the trumpet.
Annual William Adam International Trumpet Festivals ensure that his philosophy of teaching, caring and personal attention will be continued for generations to come.
Festivals feature top professionals from throughout the United States and the world.
